Avianca, Positive Results

Avianca mobilized over one and half million passengers during the holiday season in December 2010-January 2011.

The number of passengers from December to January rose 9.7% against the holidays 2009-2010.
Which closed a satisfactory season to Avianca on this last holidays. The graphics showed a significant increase in the number of passengers, and a terrific performance of the operational indicators.

 
Total passenger mobilized: between december 15th and january 31th of 2011, avianca mobilized up to 1'652.891 passengers in their national and international routes, which represents an increment of a 9.7% against the same period between 2009-2010, when back then the number of passengers was 1'507.61.
 
The volume of passengers is consistent with the chair's number offer settle by the airline. From 1'898.016 chairs offered in the vacational season of 2009-2010, there was a significant increased in the season of 2010-2011, where 1'047.912 chairs were offered, to reach an increased of almost 50 thousand chairs.

National travelers: The airline movilized 1'229.748 passengers on their Colombian interior routes in the mentioned season, which represents an increment of 14.6% against the same season in the previous year, when Avianca movilized 1'073.033 passengers traveling inside of the Colombian region.

Domestic destinations with the highest number of visitors were in order: Medellín, Cali, Cartagena, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Pereira, Santa Marta, Cúcuta and San Andrés.
 
International travelers: In the same period, 423,143 people moved Avianca routes outside Colombia.International destinations with the highest demand were: Miami, Quito, Mexico, Sao Paulo, Caracas, New York, Panama, Lima and Madrid.
